Maria E. McCabe founded Media Access Consulting, now Veritas Communication, in
1994 after nearly 20 years of experience in broadcasting, including radio, local and international television news. The firm is dedicated to providing the highest caliber strategic and communication counsel to leaders in business, the arts and non-profit organizations.
An experienced facilitator, McCabe is a specialist in developing customized programs and approaches to address high-stakes organizational and communication challenges including leadership transitions, crisis management and client relationships.
Her expertise also includes designing and implementing communication research methods to assist organizations and leadership teams in strategic communication development and business planning.
A seasoned executive coach, McCabe has worked with leaders around the world in the areas of leadership communication, effective presentations and persuasive media interviews.
As Executive Producer and Assignment Manager in some of the nation's top television markets, McCabe has trained and supervised hundreds of television reporters.
She has been responsible for creating and maintaining a strong editorial policy. Conducting literally thousands of editorial meetings, she has a firm grasp of the elements that go into compelling, effective storytelling and Emmy-winning newscasts.
As Vice President for News and Marketing of an international news production company, McCabe brokered the work of international journalists onto such programs as ABC's Nightline, CNN Special Reports, Dateline NBC and the Asian Wall Street Journal Report.
Her background is both multilingual and multicultural. A native speaker of Spanish, she is also fluent in French and Italian and has lived and studied in Europe and Latin America. She holds a B.A. degree cum laude from Bryn Mawr College and an M.A. degree from the University of Washington.
